Hi, I’m Andrew Fields – a lifelong rider and the person behind Harley-Insider.
I’ve been riding motorcycles for over 15 years, and I’ve spent more than a decade of that deep in the Harley-Davidson world: attending rallies, putting in long hours on owner forums, and building relationships with experienced riders and independent mechanics across the country. Somewhere along the way, wrenching on my own bikes and helping friends with theirs, I became the guy people called when a warning light came on or a part wouldn’t fit.
Why I built this site
Harley-Insider started as a personal notebook – a place to keep the tips, specs, and fixes I kept having to track down. And tracking them down was the frustrating part: reliable, well-organized information about Harley maintenance, specifications, and upgrades is scattered across old forum threads, outdated PDFs, and buried YouTube comments. You can spend an hour hunting for a torque spec or a wiring diagram that should take thirty seconds to find.
Harley-Insider exists to fix that. The goal is simple: collect the most useful Harley-Davidson knowledge, verify it, and structure it clearly – so you spend less time searching and more time riding.
How we create and check our content
Trust matters more than volume, so here’s exactly how our articles come together:
- Every article is written or reviewed by someone with real, hands-on Harley experience – not spun out for the sake of publishing.
- We cross-reference multiple sources before publishing: official Harley-Davidson service manuals, real-world feedback from riders, and our own time in the garage.
- We keep pages updated. Specs, model years, and part numbers change, so we revisit and correct our reference guides rather than letting them go stale.
- When something is model- or year-specific, we say so – and we point you back to your owner’s manual for the details that matter for safety.
If we ever get something wrong, we want to hear about it. Corrections from knowledgeable readers make the whole site better.
